Saturday, November 1st, from 7:30 p.m. until ?? -- For one magical evening, Tango and The Bluebirds will share the stage and present a night of live jazz music on Saturday, Nov. 1st, at Chase's Daily, 96 Main St., downtown Belfast, starting at 7:30 p.m.
We spent the summer with The Bluebirds up in Castine at Stella's Nocturnal Jazz Club. Lots of folks couldn't get out that way to see us, so we thought -- why not put on a show close by?
The big plus is having both bands on the bill. If you haven't heard The Bluebirds -- Bruce Boege on sax, Chris Poulin on guitar, Joel Mann on bass and Bill Freiderik on drums -- now's your chance. Between their big, bold, percussive sound, and our vast array of romantic (and comedic) standards, this is a night of music you should not miss.
Chase's Daily -- renowned restaurant, bakery, local produce market -- is also home to Perimeter Gallery, so you'll have plenty to look at in this unique space. Their current show "Al Crichton: Selections from the 100 Hairdos Series" will be on display for your viewing pleasure.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Chase's is NOT open for food, but a cash bar and nibblies will be available. Great music + great drink + great location = one of the best nights of your life, and it's all in hip-hop-happening Belfast, recently named one of America's 10 Coolest Small Towns by Yahoo! Travel. We hope to see you there.
